City Hall, 169 Front Street, Belleville: Architect John Evans designed City Hall in an eclectic Gothic Revival style. It was built by contractor John Forin in 1873. Gothic lancet arches over the upper floor windows and Tudor arches over the ground floor windows, articulated by the hood molds and drop labels, or recessed arches, are set in brick walls. The building is covered by a flat roof with eclectic projecting mansard roofs and dormer windows. The 144-foot tower provides an impressive and imposing feature in this composition.
