Belleville suburban growth: As the city spreads, farm fields are transformed into housing subdivisions. The cross-hatched areas east of Sidney Street and east of Farnham Road indicate proposed subdivisions in 2006. At this time most of the residential growth of Belleville is north of Highway 401 and west toward Loyalist College.
